Ital Cuisine, anyone?
We found a vegan restaurant in Kingston that specializes in creating plant-based dishes with a unique flair. Located at Lane Plaza off Constant Spring Road, Living Food & Juices offers organic, gluten-free food.
A Comfy Setting
The venue is small and cozy, with vivid, contemporary designs. It’s well illuminated; a quiet, relaxed setting where you can enjoy your meal.
There is a juice bar that serves fruit and vegetable smoothies and a dining area where you can have your entrees and salads, etc.

Living Food & Juices also offers catering services for birthdays, weddings, corporate functions and much more.
Menu
They’ve created a sufficient menu with vegan and alkaline food. Dishes include:
- Curried Rundown Chickpeas
- Vegetable Rundown
- Curried Cow Peas
- Split Peas Soup.
There’s also Pizza, Wraps and Burgers—all vegan, of course.
There is an impression given that Ital food is expensive, but here, the prices are moderate.
Okay, Let’s Dig In!
For starters, we ordered Cream of Pumpkin Soup. It was warm and thick, with rich, earthy flavors. I loved the subtle sweetness from the pumpkin.

Next came Curried-up Jackfruit with sweet potato mash—very interesting taste! I think the mix with jackfruit seeds, Cho-Cho and Cauliflower is a smart idea. Having your taste buds bouncing between flavors makes a great eating experience.

Also, we had Ackee, Okra and Beans, which was divine. If you decide to try the breadfruit taco, I would advise that you stuff whichever chosen main dish between the breadfruit just as you would with a taco and enjoy!
If Breadfruit Tacos aren’t your thing, you can try their steamed bammy, callaloo/veg dumplings or rustic sweet potato mash.

Living food & Juices is another great restaurant to add to our must-return list. They provide warm and prompt service and we observed how they treated each customer like family. It was like a breath of fresh air.

I must say that my first visit had me going back.. i was introduced to the restaurant by a friend after viewing it on his website here Jamaican Food Fanatics.. My first meal was the rustic mash sweet potato with vegetable run down along with slit pea soup. The taste was lovely and the presentation made me want to try it. I must also say the ambiance encouraged me to dine on my second visit. I also found the price to be affordable comparing to other vegetarian restaurants i had visited. On my next visit i will be trying there juices as i realise they had numerous options on their listing.
