Seafood lovers! We recently found a spot in Portmore that caters to all your crustacean cravings.
The Endzone Bar and Grill Seafood is just off the highway of Port Henderson Road (closer to Naggo Head).
It provides outdoor seating, with a back-yard type setting. Bright colored garden furniture filled the deck. Tiny lights swung overhead, casting a warm glow that gave a cozy feel. Here, you can enjoy the cool breeze while chucking down any of the selections on the menu.
We were thrown off by the server who took our order. Her attitude left much to be desired. Not that she was outright rude; but she had an abrasiveness we did not care for. Our next server’s pleasantness helped to ease our first impression.
Considering we were early birds (first at the venue); our food came soon after the order. We had no complaints in this area.
Crab, Shrimp, Lobster, Crayfish—they have it. Also on the menu: Seafood Waffle Burgers, Shrimp Loaded Fries, Lobster Thermidor and Grilled Salmon, just to name a few.
It being Wednesday; we took advantage of the special on their bucket deal (the Lucky Bucket) that included crab, crayfish, shrimp, corn and sausage.
Other seafood deals included a seafood platter, a combo deal and a nine-night fish platter.
Along with the bucket deal, we ordered Fried Fish with a side of Fried Bammy.
They also have an extensive drink menu.
Overall, there are reasonable prices.
A mouthwatering smell soon drew our attention to an incoming server, and with her, a small bucket filled with seafood. Sautéed with natural herbs and cajun spice, it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The spicy, invigorating flavors made the dish memorable.
Fried fish came with a nice flavor, crispy without being dry. In fact, the moistness was commendable. To top it off, the pineapple escoveitch sauce was both unusual and exemplary. It gave a nice kick to the dish.
On the side were soft but crunchy bammy, and a refreshing salad to cleanse the palate.
Endzone Seafood Bar and Grill is on our ‘must return’ list. There are many other menu items we’d like to try, but the seafood bucket will a constant whenever we visit.
