End Zone Bar
On this particular Friday night we were feeling particularly peckish, so we set off to find our next spot. Just a hop, jump and skip away in the city of Portmore is the Endzzone (See Google Location Map at End), and we descended on this moderately upbeat setting with the aim of satisfying our cravings.
After perusing what we deemed as a very limited menu, we settled on The Shuffle- a variety of appetizers which includes the ‘Mexican Wave/Quesadillas ‘- flour tortilla loaded with white peppers, tomato, montery jack and cheddar cheese; Jerk Pork;Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Glazed Chicken Wings.
The aroma wafting from the kitchen assaulted our nostrils as we waited for the food, but in no time it arrived, and with our mouths watering, we tucked in.
There were so many flavors packed in one platter we had no great complaints. Every single morsel arrested our taste buds with a wide array of spices . The quesadillas were infused with flavor and had a sweet yet tangy taste and accompanied by the cheeses that created a party our my mouths.
The saying ‘everything goes better with bacon’s is so true, as the bacon wrapped shrimp could do no wrong— the spices and flavors were on point. The chicken wings were served cold though, so we did not enjoy them as much as I think we would have if they were hot. Yet they were still crispy and savory.
The Jerk Pork represented well on the platter; very tender and moist ( I must thank the chef for not giving us any fat); they added the right amount of pepper to make the dish enjoyable without having to take a drink to cool down.
The star of the dish for me was the Sweet Chili Sauce—-it was everything! And by everything I mean I dipped everything in it. Man!At one point I was just forking the sauce out and eating it alone. It was that good!
Afterwards, we chilled and enjoyed the music while sipping red wine and a drink they call “Winter Games” (combination of Pinacolada and rum cream) a must try when you visit the Endzzone.
My only critique is– we needed more menu options! But kudos to the chef, the Shuffle platter definitely appeased our appetite!
