Chilitos Jamexican Food
We recently stopped by Chilitos, located at 88 Hope Road, St. Andrew. The buzzing eatery caters to anyone who is looking to experience a taste Mexican cuisine. There is an influence of Jamaican flavors as well.
Customarily, It’s an ideal spot to chill at lunchtime, or for an after-work Jam.
The menu items include:
Appetizers: Chimichangas, Mini Nacho Supreme and Taquitos.
Main course: Burritos, Tacos, Enchiladas and Quesadillas.
Also, you are able to choose your own filling. These include grilled chicken, pork and ground beef.
The ambiance is great, and there is a very chilled vibe. The venue had a somewhat rustic setting and its spacious. Also, they provide lots of seats that allows you to experience indoor or outdoor dining.
We liked the music, it was soft, and pleasant. It enabled us to engage in conversations without having to strain over the noise.
In the beginning, it took a while for our orders to be taken. With that said, however, the timely delivery of the food by our pleasant server made up for it.
The food was good, hands down. We ordered beef tacos, and experienced a burst of flavors and crunchiness that provided a fun eating experience.
The cool, sour cream on top helped to temper the spiciness of the minced beef.
Also, we had ordered the Chimichanga-which I highly recommend.
I enjoyed the warm, soft and buttery dough enveloped the spicy combination of well-seasoned beef and creamy cheese. It was heaven.
On the other hand, there was one drawback. Firstly, I think the menu is limited. It took less than a minute to peruse the entire menu. Certainly, it would be good to see them expand just a bit more.
For the most part, the food is great. But, will I want to order the same menu items repeatedly? Probably not.
Additionally, their drink menu needs to include non-alcoholic beverage options as well.I love a strong drink or two (who doesn’t?). However, it would be good to have the choice of a milder drink.
They also have specials- Margarita Mondays, Taco Tuesdays and Burrito Fridays.
Generally, they’re open Mondays to Saturdays, from 11:00am to 10:00 pm.
